Would you like to help grow the Fredericton Botanic Garden and support its mission to welcome Fredericton’s diverse communities to enjoy and learn about plants, gardens and nature?
We are looking for people with different backgrounds, time and skills and an interest in gardens and natural urban spaces to join the Board of Directors.
We are coming into our 35th year as a non-profit, charitable organization responsible for managing and developing the Fredericton Botanic Garden. We operate year-round to deliver programming in the Garden and support its operations.Â
Being on our Board is rewarding, creative and often fun. We work with dedicated staff and volunteers in the garden to develop and maintain attractions such as the food forest, the literature garden, and the new rose and pond gardens, as well as supporting fundraising and programming through various committees.Â
The Board meets about six times a year, alternating between online and in-person meetings at our Resource Centre. Board members are also expected to participate in committees (e.g., fundraising, programming and communications).
Having Board experience is an asset, but we particularly hope to attract people who have a deep interest in the Garden, and would bring different kinds of expertise and experience, as well as strong links to different parts of the Fredericton community.
